Fall Tag

Hey everyone! Fall is just getting started where I live so I thought it would be the perfect time to do the Fall Favorites tag. Read on to see what my fall favorites are!

What is your favorite fall candle?

I don’t have a specific candle that I like for fall. However, I really like Bath and Body Works candles so it would probably be one from there!

What is your favorite drink?

I love the black peach tea from Dutch Brothers!

What is your favorite fall clothing trend?

I love boots! I would wear them all year if the weather was right. My current favorites are from Target and are from the Mossimo Supply Co brand. They are black combat type boots and I can wear them with a dress or jeans!

What is your favorite movie to watch in the fall?

I like Hocus Pocus, but Young Frankenstein is also great!

What Fall television show are you looking forward to?

I watch a lot of TV shows, but I was really looking forward to Chicago Fire. Shows by Shonda Rhimes were on my watch list too!

What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?

I only eat two things on Thanksgiving, and they are rolls and cheesy onions. So good!

What was your favorite Halloween costume?

I liked a lot of my Halloween costumes through the years, but I think the one that deserved more praise was when I was 8 or 9.  I dressed as Raggedy Ann and my dad dress up as Raggedy Andy.

Football, yay or nay?

Yay! I actually know a lot more about football than people think. My favorite NFL team is the Cardinals and my favorite college team is the Longhorns.

I hope you enjoyed this tag and I would love to see what your answers are to these questions! You can answer as many as you want in the comments below!

Thanksgiving Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving! Since today is Thanksgiving I decided that instead of doing a book review for text Thursday I would do a Thanksgiving Day post about what I have been thankful for this past year.

The first thing I have been thankful for this past year is my friends. I had a very close friend decide that they did not want to continue our friendship, and it was extremely difficult. I went from talking to them every day to not at all and it was definitely an adjustment. Without my other friends I would have been a wreck! They texted me every day and they were there for me when I needed to vent about something or needed to celebrate something. I am so glad that I have such great friends to turn to!

The next thing that I am thankful for is my family! My brother was on a trip for a couple months this year and it really helped put things in perspective on how much he plays a role in my life. It was just little things like lighting a candle or supporting my crazy cup collecting habits that made me realize how much I needed him home. I will say that it did bring my other brother and I closer though. We really began to talk more and would spend more time together. He would come shopping with me, and sometimes help control my need to spend money! Not only am I thankful for my brothers, but I am also thankful for my parents. They are so supportive of me and my education. Without them getting my degree would be so much harder and would most likely be impossible. I am so thankful that I can have a great relationship with my family and am glad I get to keep building on that relationship.

The last thing that I am going to mention is my education. I am so thankful that I am able to continue my education, and that I am able to go to college and go for a degree that interests me. Even though it is super hard at times I know that it will be worth it in the future!

Those are just a few things that I am thankful for. There have been so many people I am extremely blessed to have met. I also had a lot of experiences and changes in my life that have made my life better.  This year really has been such a great year so far, and I am looking forward to the rest of it! What are some of the things you are thankful for? Let me know in the comments below!

Thanksgiving Treats

Hey everybody! Thanksgiving is almost here and so I figured I would share a couple Thanksgiving Day treats with you all. I found these recipes on pinterest when doing a search for Thanksgiving Day treats. I have yet to make these treats, but I definitely plan to do so on Thursday! I will post pictures on my Instagram page when I do make them for you all to see!
The first treat is Thanksgiving Pilgrim hats. These are the cutest things I have ever seen, and are super simple to make. You only need four ingredients to make these! You will need miniature peanut butter cups, chocolate wafer cookies, white frosting, and orange food coloring! The first thing you are going to do is dye your frosting orange by adding the food coloring to it. This will be used for decoration and for holding the peanut butter cups to the cookies. After getting your frosting ready you will put a small amount of frosting on the center of the cookie, I will be using Oreo thins for the cookie. After putting the frosting on the cookie you will then place the peanut butter cup upside down on the cookie. This will form a hat. The last step is to take your frosting in a frosting bag (I use a zip lock bag with the tip cut off) and drawing a line around the base of the peanut butter cup. Then add a square to the band to look like a buckle. After you do that you are done! It is such a cute treat and takes very little time to make!
The last treat I am going to share with you all is also super easy! It is a turkey rice krispie treat. For this you will need rice krispie treats cut in the shape of a circles, melted chocolate morsels, chocolate wafers, candy corn, candy eyes, and orange m&m’s. To make these turkeys you will need to make rice krispie treats and shape them into circles. After doing that you will use the melted chocolate and “Glue” on 5 candy corn feathers, one wafer for the face, two eyes and half on an m&m for the beak. Like the other recipe it is super simple to make and will take you no time at all!
These two recipes are so cute and festive. I cannot wait to make them for my family! I look forward to sharing the pictures of how they turn out with you all! What recipes do you make for Thanksgiving? Let me know in the comments below!

Things I’m Thankful For

It’s been quite a while since I’ve last posted. Let me start by saying happy Thanksgiving and I hope you all had a great day with your friends and family! Today is a day where everyone gives thanks for what they have and in light of that I am going to list a few things that I’m thankful for.

The first thing I am thankful for is my family. They have been such a blessing this past year. They have helped me when I just needed to talk or when I needed some extra help with bills, gas, or whatever I needed. I know that I can always count on them to be there when I need them.

Another thing I am thankful for are my friends. Just like with my family I know that they will always be there for me. I can go to my friends for anything, whether it is for a hug when I’m feeling sad or stressed, some much needed advice, or just to hang out. I know that no matter how far away they are they will always make time to talk to me.  I am also so thankful that they listen to me about all of my current obsessions!

The last, but definitely not the least, is my boss and her family. My boss is so great! She is very understanding and supportive about my school schedule. She is always a listening ear and willing to give me advice. She is also very generous person. Besides my boss I am thankful for the kids. Even though they drive me crazy sometimes they definitely make me happy.  They are all so sweet, at times, and it makes all the crazy times worth it. There is not a day that goes by where they don’t make me laugh at least once. They all make work so much more fun.

Those are just a few things I am thankful for this Thanksgiving. I have been so blessed this year, and look forward to the coming year. I urge you all to think of what you are thankful for this year.  I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving.
